Devon Meat on the Menu at the Tour de France
4th July 2007 The Well Hung Meat Co will be serving
up delicious organic burgers, sausages and steaks at the Tour de France opening
Ceremony in London's Trafalgar Square.
South Devon based Organic Meat business, The Well Hung Meat Co, will be offering the finest organic meat from Devon and Cornwall to spectators in London this Friday. The opening ceremony will be a free public celebration of the Tour de France's arrival in London in Trafalgar Square and will attract visitors from across the country and Europe.
The Well Hung Meat Co will be taking their purpose-built organic burger van to the event and promoting the delights of their award-winning meat, all of which is sourced from small, local farms in Devon and Cornwall.
Graeme Roy, Managing Director of Well Hung Meat shares his enthusiasm about the event, “The Tour de France is a huge international event, being the largest annual sporting event in the world, and it’s great that the cyclists and their support teams will be visiting London. We are delighted to be able to offer the most fantastic produce from the South West and to promote the region to a wide audience.”
As well as promoting produce from the region, Well Hung Meat are committed to promoting a healthy lifestyle and diet and, as Graeme explains, the Tour de France is a great event for promoting exercise and fitness which form the basis of a healthy lifestyle, along with the food that we eat. “We are always trying to educate people about the benefits of eating well sourced, well reared meat without all the unnecessary chemicals, additives and other nasties,” explains Graeme, “meat is an important source of protein in any diet and grass fed beef and lamb has been proven to have higher levels of essential fatty acids and omega 3’s, all of which are beneficial to health.”
