Geoff
Geoff grew up in the idyllic surroundings
of Carswell Farm, but was soon lured away by the bright lights of the financial
world... that's right, our earthy head honcho, farm manager and organic officianado
was once a pin-striped Investment Banker, schooled in the world of Far Eastern
equity markets.
Before such time, Geoff lived a characteristically adventurous lifestyle, spending a year on a Short Service Commission as an Army Officer in West Germany and undertaking a degree in Agricultural Economics at the University of Edinburgh.
After 10 years in the cut-and-thrust world of finance, Geoff decided his love of farming couldn't keep him away forever, and was at last drawn back to the rural pleasures of the Southwest. He returned in 1997 to take over the running of Carswell and continue the family farming tradition.
Geoff plays cricket for the world famous Holbeton Cricket team and otherwise enjoys the hectic life on the farm and living organically. The farm also boasts some delightful holiday cottages (click here for more info), so come and stay and request a guided tour!
"Satisfied Well Hung Meat customers makes all the hard work worthwhile. My aim is to connect farm to plate!"

and production experience, Julian oversees the whole production process from
the hanging to the butchery to the packing and dispatch. Julian has recently
been made a member of The Worshipful Company of Butcher's Guild, which acknowledges
his high level of expertise.
Julian was born in Plymouth and now enjoys the delights and local pubs of Kingsbridge. He is a motorbike enthusiast and also enjoys watching Moto GP.
Simon
Simon
started his Well Hung journey as the catering and events manager and spent
the majority of Summer '06 on the road at various shows and festivals. Some
of you may have met him flipping burgers or signing up monthly meat box customers.
Simon is a keen surfer with a passion for food and drink. Since joining Well Hung Meat, Simon has made it his mission to encourage people to 'eat meat with flavour'.
Sophie
Sophie joined us in May 2007 to assist with the Marketing and PR. It is likely that you will be greeted by her friendly voice when you call our office. She has since taken on the management of the sales and marketing activities.
Sophie hails from Wembury on the South Devon Coast and she enjoys living by the sea and being outdoors (weather permitting!). She travelled to Australia and New Zealand for a year after completing a Business Studies Degree at Plymouth University.
Brian
Brian
joined us in April 2007 as a meat-packer. Originally from Canada, Brian now
lives just up the road in Ashburton.
Brian enjoys spending time with his friends and family, and admits a keen interest in dressing up as an elf and wielding a 7ft sword at weekends..... Live-action role-play is the official name but no doubt it's just an excuse to play games!
Bev
Bev joined us in September 2007 as a butcher and helps Julian with the running of the butchery. Bev has many years of experience in butchery and is happy to be working alongside Julian again - she was Julian's deputy in a previous job!
