Part Time/Contract Butchers and Packers

We are always on the lookout for enthusiastic and hard-working people to help in our busy and dynamic butchery environment. Own transport essential due to rural location.

Office Administrator

The post of Office Administrator is key to the smooth running of the business.

Key responsibilities:

The smooth and efficient running of the WHM Office functions and administration, including:

Maintaining clear and accurate filing systems for records such as goods-in/out, processing records, supplier invoices etc.
Book-keeping and financial administration, payroll and basic HR;
Providing general administrative support for the business (e.g. liaising with utilities providers, ordering stationary etc)
Liaising with industry bodies and supporting the business with compliance issues (e.g. ensuring records and paperwork are in place, up to date and accessible for inspections etc)
Key account management for wholesale customer (Abel & Cole), including handling orders received, invoicing, credit control etc
Day to day customer services support and order processing (training will be provided on our e-commerce platform)

Person requirements:

Accuracy is key
Good IT skills, particularly on MS Word, MS Excel
Good telephone manner
Own transport (due to rural location)


Food industry and customer services experience
Knowledge of the organic sector
Some book-keeping knowledge and use of Key Accounts (accounting software)

This is a full-time permanent role, though part-time/flexible might be considered

Salary: up to £17k depending on skills/experience

Operations Manager

This is an exciting new role and an opportunity for the right person to make their mark on a growing meat production business, helping us ensure delivery of our policy of ‘Excellence in Everything’.

Key responsibilities:

To ensure and maintain the highest production standards through consistent implementation of our Food Policy and HACCP plan (to include over-seeing successful SALSA accreditation)
Reviewing and refining procurement and production processes to ensure maximum efficiency
Day to day management of production facilities, including:
Equipment and buildings maintenance
Health and Safety
Food Safety and Personal Hygiene
Goods out quality control
Implementation of goods-in/out and process record keeping to ensure full accountability and traceability at all stages of the production processes

Person requirements:

Candidate must have:
Food production knowledge/experience and track record of achieving production efficiencies
Technical skills and qualifications to at least Level 3 in HACCP & Food Safety
Project and people management experience
Attention to detail and a can-do attitude
Own transport (rural location)

Organic sector knowledge
Experience of achieving SALSA accreditation

Salary: dependant on skills/experience
