Well Hung Butchery Officially Open

Fearnley-Whittingstall of River Cottage officially opened the new Well Hung
Meat Butchery on Wednesday 15th of November by cutting a string of sausages.
Local customers and friends of the business cheered as the butcher's shop was declared officially open.
Hugh said "It's the passion and the enthusiasm which carries enterprises like this. This is a venture which deserves a very happy future."
Traditional butcher’s shops are becoming an increasingly endangered
species but they play a vital role in educating people about their food and
how it is produced. You will be able to see carcasses being broken down into
all the tasty cuts. Traditional butchery methods such as this are a dying
art and we want people to be able to see the butchers at work so they can
appreciate where their meat has come from.
We are not a farm shop, meat is our business and it is what we know and love. We will have a full range of organic beef, lamb, pork, poultry, sausages and bacon for people to choose from and the butchers will be on hand to offer advice and cut to order. We have some fantastic producers local to us in South Devon and we will be using the shop to showcase their products. Everything we stock is certified organic and will have come from within a 50 mile radius.
As well as being able to buy our delicious organic meat, you can also pick up Laydilay organic eggs, Heron Valley organic juices, Westcountry Curry Company organic marinades and sauces, Godminster Vintage organic cheddar and Rod and Ben's Veg Boxes.
The butchery is open Mon - Fri 9 - 4.
